Explore Stephen Smith’s studio practice and the processes behind his commercial and personal work.

Explore Stephen Smith’s studio practice and the processes behind his commercial and personal work. Stephen will show work that draws on a constant process of abstraction through construction and deconstruction primarily through drawing, painting and collage. He is searching for a brutal beauty that exists between these states of flux. Stephen will explore behind the scenes work in progress, experimental projects and animation.

Stephen hails from a background rooted in illustration having studied at The University of the West of England and Brighton University. He is renowned for his distinctive style that seamlessly blends hand-drawn elements, organic patterns, vibrant colours, hand drawn and digital techniques. Neasden Control Centre’s work often possesses a whimsical yet thought-provoking quality which transcends traditional boundaries from large-scale murals and installations to book covers and editorial illustrations. Neasden Control Centre’s work often convey abstract narratives that resonate with audiences on both a personal and universal level.
