RAMP Specialist Facilities at Ocean Studios are the heart of our space and programme. Our specialisms are in printmaking and ceramics, but our community is a diverse mix of fine artists, potters, illustrators, textile creators, sculptors, graphic designers, and printmakers, all sharing a common space to explore and inspire one another.

Printmaking Facilities

Whether you’re an established artist, emerging printmaker, or have a keen interest in exploring the world of printmaking, our spaces offer you the perfect space build, play with and develop your creative practice using traditional presses and modern processes to experience with various techniques.

We have 3 Print Spaces at Ocean Studios:

  • Print Workspace 2– A large print studio perfect with A1, A2, A4 relief printing presses.
  • Screen printing – Screen beds, exposure unit, wash-out booth
  • Print & Press – Letterpress studio bookable upon request support from Alan Qualtrough
  • Risograph – Our new printer nestled in Workspace 2 and bookable by the hour.

Printmaking Studios Hours: Monday 9am – 5pm, Wednesday 9am – 9pm, Friday 9am – 5pm

RAMP Studios

Access to 24/7 studios space at Ocean Studios.

  • First-floor spaces with natural light at Plymouth’s historic Royal William Yard. 
  • 24/7 access, utilities, Wi-Fi, and personal support
  • Communal facilities, maintenance, waste management
  • Routes to market, exhibition space, and networking
  • Café access with 10% discount, bike storage, communal shower.

Looking for Test or Exhibition space?

We’ve got a selection of small and large flexible workspaces suitable to test and develop artwork, perfect for students, graduates and start-ups with an interest in exploring work in a new environment.

RAMP curate a programme of exhibitions to align with workshops, talks and masterclasses, but we do accept proposals for those looking to exhibit at Ocean Studios. We do also hold themed exhibition call for entries as part of large, local, regional and national initiatives.
