Description

Free 10-week workshop with opportunity to publish an original piece of your writing in the first Ocean Publishing Partnership zine

Join our free 10-week creative writing and publishing programme at RAMP (Real Art Make Print) at Ocean Studios with the opportunity to publish an original piece of your writing in the first Ocean Publishing Partnership zine.

Improve your writing skills with five weekly sessions each focusing on a different form: poetry, experimental fiction, flash fiction, lyrics and short plays. Then, spend three weeks designing, editing and producing a zine featuring your work using RAMP‘s printing facilities. The final session will be an Open Mic night, during which you can read or perform your work from the newly published zine.

The creative writing workshops are led by writer Hannah Wood, founder of Story Juice and a Lecturer in Creative Writing at University of Plymouth. The publishing workshops are led by Alan Qualtrough, Letterpress Lead at RAMP, founder of Kiss & Bite Press, co-founder of Ocean Publishing Partnership, Editor of the Stonehouse Voice, and former Editor-in-Chief of the Western Morning News and Evening Herald.

Ocean Publishing Partnership, a collaboration between Slate Publishing, Real Ideas Organisation, and the Stonehouse Voice, is grateful for funding from Plymouth Octopus to run this programme.

If you want to join the workshops or need more information, email alan.qualtrough@realideas.org.
