The Life Drawing at Ocean Studios Saturday workshops are back!!
With this special one off event, we will be taking our drawing materials and heading outside to draw directly from nature ‘en plein air’…
Drawing outside brings a different set of challenges than working from a life model in the studio, instead of having a single point of focus you are surrounded by endless possibilities; It can definitely be a bit challenging, but this close contact with nature helps to bring fresh impetus and break us out of habitual drawing techniques.
This workshop is open to all levels of experience. There will be group discussion, as well as individual guidance, and we will be sharing our work over the course of the day, in a friendly and informal working atmosphere.
Paper, drawing board, and very basic drawing materials will be provided. However, it is advised to bring some sort of coloured drawing materials with you, whether that’s a small watercolour set, coloured pencils, oil pastels etc..
We will be getting the 9:45 ferry from Admirals Hard over to Mount Edgcombe, and coming back on the 16:00 ferry. It is probably best to bring a packed lunch. And please note that you are responsible for paying your own ferry costs of £3 each way.
